Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse To Return Home After Hospitalisation

Amy Winehouse is to return home after being taken to hospital for tests on Monday, her spokesman has confirmed.

The troubled singer was taken to the London Clinic in Marylebone and kept in for observation after she fainted near her Camden home in north London.

Though doctors were initially unsure as to the cause of the incident, Winehouse's spokesman said the Back to Black star should return home later today.

"She's fine. It was a brief thing and they took her in as a precaution," he told People magazine.

"Her Dad drove her to a private hospital, but they're unsure what caused it so aren't taking any chances."

She had been signing autographs for Canadian fans who had been waiting outside her house all day when the incident happened, her representative said on Monday.

The Grammy-winner was admitted to a hospital in London suffering from "severe exhaustion" last year, and later reports claimed she was being treated in a rehabilitation facility.

Having played an exclusive concert at an art gallery in Moscow for Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, the Ivor Novello winner is due to appear in London's Hyde Park, at a charity gig marking the 90th birthday of former South African president Nelson Mandela.

While two people were charged last week over a video that purported to show the singer smoking a crack cocaine pipe, police confirmed in May that Winehouse would not face charges.

She was, however, cautioned by police earlier this year after admitting a common assault following an incident in Camden, north London.

Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently on trial in south London having admitted charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Anthony Peckham (Human Factor) will write the script about a spy who "risks everything to reveal a conspiracy after he's accused of a murder he didn't commit." Maybe the conspiracy involves movie studios colluding to produce a gratuitous number of seemingly identical spy movies? [Variety]

Apatow Picks Funny People: You know that part in Knocked Up where Seth Rogen talks about how badass Eric Bana is? Today his dream comes true as Bana joins the cast of Judd Apatow's Funny People (the previously untitled comedy with Rogen and Adam Sandler), the story of a stand-up comedian who has a near-death experience. Semi-fact: Bana began as a stand-up comedian in Australia before reimagining himself as a serious actor, after someone pointed out how good-looking he was. Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill have also joined the cast because Apatow figured, eh, what the hell. [Variety]

Neeson and Nesbitt go to Heaven: Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt will try their damnedest to play Irishmen in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, the story of two guys whose lives were destroyed because of violence in Northern Ireland from the sixties to the nineties. We know how they feel, because in 2007 our lives were destroyed by the awfulness of NBC's The Black Donnellys. [HR]

Even one of Hef's girlfriends, Holly Madison, agrees that he'd "be a good choice." Sold? [Comingsoon]

The flagship act on West London's Hospital Records, London Elektricity specialise in sleek, organic coffee table drum'n'bass in conference with production maestros like Roni Size and E-Z Rollers. The twosome of Tony Coleman and Chris Goss (both musicians) focus on live construction, with solos from transverse flute and violin plus Coleman's loggerheaded contrabass on many tracks. Their number one press release on Hospital, "Sis Stalking," did well in Japan and earned a distribution contract through Sony Japan. Singles like "Pull the Plug" and "Vocal in the Key of Knife" did well with jungle DJs as notable as Fabio, so Coleman and Goss released their debut full-length Draw out the Plug in June 1999. London Elektricity have likewise provided remixes for Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and the Fugees' Refugee Camp signee Jon Forté.
