Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse To Return Home After Hospitalisation

Amy Winehouse is to return home after being taken to hospital for tests on Monday, her spokesman has confirmed.

The troubled singer was taken to the London Clinic in Marylebone and kept in for observation after she fainted near her Camden home in north London.

Though doctors were initially unsure as to the cause of the incident, Winehouse's spokesman said the Back to Black star should return home later today.

"She's fine. It was a brief thing and they took her in as a precaution," he told People magazine.

"Her Dad drove her to a private hospital, but they're unsure what caused it so aren't taking any chances."

She had been signing autographs for Canadian fans who had been waiting outside her house all day when the incident happened, her representative said on Monday.

The Grammy-winner was admitted to a hospital in London suffering from "severe exhaustion" last year, and later reports claimed she was being treated in a rehabilitation facility.

Having played an exclusive concert at an art gallery in Moscow for Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, the Ivor Novello winner is due to appear in London's Hyde Park, at a charity gig marking the 90th birthday of former South African president Nelson Mandela.

While two people were charged last week over a video that purported to show the singer smoking a crack cocaine pipe, police confirmed in May that Winehouse would not face charges.

She was, however, cautioned by police earlier this year after admitting a common assault following an incident in Camden, north London.

Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently on trial in south London having admitted charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Today his dream comes true as Bana joins the cast of Judd Apatow's Funny People (the previously untitled comedy with Rogen and Adam Sandler), the story of a stand-up comedian who has a near-death experience. Semi-fact: Bana began as a stand-up comedian in Australia before reimagining himself as a serious actor, after someone pointed out how good-looking he was. Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill have also joined the cast because Apatow figured, eh, what the hell. [Variety]

Winehouse's husband in guilty pleas

The husband of singer Amy Winehouse has pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm on a pub landlord.
Twenty-six-year-old Blake Fielder-Civil pleaded guilty to the attack on James King and also to perverting the course of justice.
The pleas were made during a week of legal argument at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The Press Association reports that Judge David Radford today lifted an order banning reporting of the guilty pleas of Fielder-Civil and his co-defendants and also an allegation that King could have been subjected to intimidation or duress.
Michael Brown, 25, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and also perverting the course of justice.
Anthony Kelly, 25, and James Kennedy, 19, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.
King has pleaded not guilty to a charge of perverting the court of justice and his trial is due to begin tomorrow.
